I searched and everything I found was a combo of forged pistons and aftermarket rods.

I understand that our wrist pin is pressed into the stock rod, and the JE's have floating pins with the locks on either end. Will I need the rods honed out to fit? Is it even possible?

It's not that I'm cheap, I'm just low on money. I don't plan on running FI, so I was planning on getting the stock rods shot-peened and using them if possible.

For the time being, I have my JE 8.8's on my stock rods. The pin had to be pressed in/out at a machine shop, but I was there anyway getting the block bored, so it wasn't a real issue for me.

Luke you need to have the stock rod modified to accept a bushed wrist pin. It can be done, Lee (MrSlick) had this combo 2 summers ago i think it was.

I had to have the eagle rods on my cougar honed to accept the pin on my KB pistons. I assumed it could be done, but wanted to make sure.

Is this for the Eclipse or the Cougar? I almost hope it's for the Cougar so you can get rid of those damned KB pistons, hyperuetectic is the suck!

KB hyper pistons are used in many forced induction as well an NA motors for ford/chevy and many others. I have hyper in my Harley and i love them. A guy at work has a 502 69 Camaro with hyper pistons in it and well as a 55 chevy with a 350 Small block. None of the above have ever had a problem but like any motor the build must build to the right tolerances.

I think you are the suck and dont know your ass from a hole in the ground.

By no means do the pistons suck. They've been taking a beating for a while in lean a condition and they're still fine (I've visually inspected them). I understand that they're not as strong as forged pistons, but I'm not boosting or spraying, so it doesn't matter for my application.

It will work. You just have a pressed pin, instead of full floating. You can't go the other way. You can't put stock pistons, on Eagle rods. The stock rods will not have the strength of Eagles, but they will work.

Mr slick was running 19psi with stock rods, or he claimed to. I cant sant say i doubt it if your not boosting every light. Hahn has proven out stock bottom end is good to 300chp, i would say if you are careful 15psi would be max and you would probably need to replace them long term.
