Tricky one to search for a specific comparo and I don't have much time this afternoon, but I'd like to see if anyone has anything to say about why one brand might be better than the other. Make no difference? Just personal taste? I appreciate any input.

Well, just last night I saw a post where the fidanza's need to have the timing marks remarked... my obx ones are dead on however and were had for 125 shipped off ebay...

new AEM's are supposed to have the correct timing marks as well and are pretty good.

As long as the bolts dont slip and you are able to adjust your timing from stock position with them, I can't fathom there is much, if any, difference. They have to be pretty much the same for them to even work. Color choice maybe? cool name factor?

I agree, and possibly a weight difference, but it wouldn't be much.

Last few engines I have built for myself I have used AEM.

My fidanza's seem to be off lining up barely by a hair...could be my fault though with setting the timing. I'm redoing my timing this weekend since the motor is out of the car and the t-belt is riding a lil on the edge of the gears.

You're was been milled for flatness, so that will have a slight effect on the way the marks line up.

When using the index marks on my cams the unorthodox lined up just fine. The only time they ever slipped or changed timing was when my valves decided to play with my pistons. At that point I am almost glad, and probably saved my pistons from a nasty gouge or two. I have never seen the Fidanza personally, but they were unvailable when I needed to order a set. So I got a set of Unorth. from a guy up in Michigan. They were incredibly lighter than stock, and you already know what that means. BTW don't buy a set of cranes, lol, they suck for a 2.0.

I have the new style fidanza and the marks need to be re-marked. I like the 5 bolt as opposed to the 3 bolt. I set my cams to the index marks and only use the cam marks to get the belt on close anyway. The index marks are my final approval. I am very happy with mine.
