does anyone use those cam gears, and if so, did your timing marks line up right, and if possible, could i see a picture of them lining up right? my lines dont match up and am wondering if they are defective, and i dont know where to put the marks at since i cant tell which lines are right on the gears

Wish I could help, but the guy I bought them from never shipped them. :shrug

I have the new style ones and no, they dont line up. I set my cams to the index holes under the valvecover.

pretty much most cam gear require remarkign if you want them to line up with the marks. Try doing a search, this has been covered many times.

I have the obx cam gears (not installed yet) and the marks line up with the ones on the stock gears.

what do u mean they require remarking? and what should i search under to find out how to do it, i have searched cam gears and found nuthin about remarking them

My guess is you would install the gears, then set the cams so that the holes in each cam are facing straight up, then make a new mark on the gears.

yeah i was actually gonna do that, set the cams where the should be, and put the gears on just like that, and whatever the lines r at, thats how the should be lined up, hope that works

Ok what you need to do is "zero" the gears out, that is, make sure the gears and in the 0 position so you have adjustability in either direction. Next take the stock cam gear and place it on top of the aftermarket gear. Now mark the tooth of the aftermarket gear that is identicle to the factory one. Kinda hard to type but do you get the idea?

put the stock gears on the cams, then line up the aftermarket ones with the dowel pin facing the same way, and mark the gears to match the stock gears?

Like, put the new cam gear on the floor. Then take the aftermarket one and put it on top lined up like they would be if they were on the cam. Then look at the mark on the stock cam gear and make one in the same place on the aftermarket one. Repeat with the other gear.

Or buy the cheapo OBX ones off ebay for 120 shipped that are already marked properly.
