hey, i want to get an underdrive pulley but am concerned about a few things. i have a system in my car and when the bass hits if the volume is cranked up, my lights already dim a little bit. will an underdrive pulley cause more dimming and not allow my system to get enough power? what would be a solution to this, or is this really a problem? maybe a capacitor for my amps would help. thanks a lot.

this topics has been brought up several times.. try a search, and you should find some stuff on it.. as for the lights dimming, how many watts are you pumping out, b/c a cap should help that out.. and for the udp, someone told me that they have been tested to last for 2000 watts...?? i forgot what the number was, but there are some guys with big systems that have no probs with the udp. go for it!

Well i have about 2700 watts goin through my system, and i have the underdrive pulley. I DO notice a little dimming when i am at idle, and there is some current draw at the same time. I notice at night, with the head lights on, and the sounds, the lights dim a little. When i tap the gas to raise the rpm's, the lights brighten up a little bit. I think this will be ok, as long as you don't idle for too long with the system way up...I have a brand new alternator too...
Just be careful with this set up, because it will put more stress on your alternator at idle, because now the alternator is turning 30% slower with the UDP on the car...
