92703, Code P0123 and P0443 Posted by freddy_00_69, Aug-28-05 03:15 PM
I got these 2 codes, i know the P0123 is TPS high output. I took my evap canister off so that is why i got that code, but my shit is running like shit. Vacuum pressure is good on my gauge, but it sounds like crap. Almost like misfiring, but it is not a misfire, it sounds worse. Also, what do i need to do about the high output for the TPS. I am probably gonna replace it, but what would make that code pop up. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I did know, but i thought maybe someone could of added their insight or information on if they have had this problem. Thanks for posting the link, though. I guess i will just have to replace the tps and go from there.

yeah fix the TPS cel codes come on for a reason... and a TPS problem will def. cause driveability problems

Replaced the TPS, that didnt fix any problem, so i am gonna buy the IAC. I mine as well replace plugs, wires, ignition coil while i am at since i believe it is one of these causing the problems. I drove the car and it drives fine, but when i come to a stop, it idles weird. It goes up and down but not much, just like from 700-900, but sounds like misfiring. I am gonna replace all that and see if it idles better.

Did you ever figure this out? sounds alot like my problem except my vacuum gauge read low like -10 at idle. I also have the same TPS high output code and have already replaced it. That is the same sound though like a misfire but it isn't.

I cant remember what it was to be honest, i have had so many issues with the car. I did find out that my IAC spring was messed up so that fixed my high/low idle, but i dont think that will fix your problem. I didnt have an issue with low vacuum. That sounds like a leak if your not getting good vacuum, but i amnot sure. Sorry, wish i could help, hopefully someone comes in here to help out.

This also seems similar to my problem (throwing codes P0123 along with EGR and rear o2). I have replaced the TPS already and it went off for awhile and now the SOB is back on. So would it be my IAC tripping the TPS high voltage code? I think my IAC is out of adjustment since last time I had the motor apart I cleaned the IAC and noticed the spring moved a little too freely.
I don't have a vacuum gauge in my car, but I know when I press the clutch in to coast up to a stop my engine will hover around 1300, and sometime jump up to 1600 and hang, but soon as I come to a complete stop it goes down and hangs at 800-950. Other times when i press the clutch it'll jump down to 200-400 and bounce around a bit before I come to a stop and then settles out again. I'm wondering if something in my wiring is jacked from when I was trying to solve my electrical problem I had awhile ago. Possibly a torn or exposed wire?
