Okay, some of you may remember me and my 98 GS

well, car was totaled and I pulled the motor. Recently I found a 95 RS with a blown motor.



So today i drop in my 98 motor and automatic tranny and realized that some sensors are different.So i swaped some sensors around, no problem.

Now I cant find the wiring harness connector for the crank sensor!

everything is hooked up but that. I cannot find it!




Also, I have a very big problem with the automatic transmission.

My 98 Tranny has 1 less plug than the 95 tranny.

I pulled the 2 sensors from the 95 tranny and they look the same. same connector and both even have 4 pins.

and on the 98 tranny, there is a plug with 8 pins.


i was thinking that 2 of the plugs on the 95 tranny are the same? so in 97-99, they made those 2 plugs just one.


wtf m8?

i was thinking if i can get the plug from a 97-99 eclipse tranny and do some re-wiring on the 95 harness.


please help asap, i dont have the time or money to use the 95 tranny.

The motor is already bolted in the mounts and the harness it 90% complete.

from what i've seen, looking into the ecu problems everyone is having, it looks like your best bet is to get the wiring harness upgrade kit. someone mentioned it in another post but i cant remember what my search terms were. i know i saw it though.
if that turns out to be BS you are in for some $hit, specially with the automatic. just search ecu compatibility i guess, look for the model year info, and hope somebody posts with the answer in the meantime!
sorry: i dont mean to be one of the SEARCH nazis. but its late and i spent a lot of time searching that info; hopefully if you search ECU, wiring harness, and 95 you;ll have some luck.

I solved my probem



I got the plug from my old 98 that i found in a junkyard.


rewired it to the 95 harness and i have 2 wires on the plug left over.



car drives find... it jerks bewteen shifts under hard acceleration and i dont have direct access to my 2 and L gears.

But OD still works fine.
