I want to know if anyone has bored their own throttle body? I work in a machine shop & have access to cnc machines. I have also heard I can get a throttle body off a jeep but I am not sure which one would work.

Ahh, welcome to 2GNT, you will quickly find out that when asking questions previously answered the response may be a bit harsh, but rest assured, this is a supportive, caring community. Think of it as tough love.

If you have access to cnc machines and program it yourself, then boring it yourself is the obvious choice. The stock bore is 52mm and *most* guys bore them out to 55. Some people have done a 56 or 57. You will need to fit a new (larger) butterfly valve. Then you should be good to go. Good luck :thumbsup

Check my sig for the 60mm Jeep TB writeup. You can get the stocker out to 52mm without modifying the plate. I've seen the stockers get bored out to 55mm. You'll need to fab a butterfly if you go that big. I just went straight for the big gun though. The big cheap gun.

The throttle plate is already 52 mm but the tb is tapered, meaning it starts at about 47-48 then makes its way to 52 at the throttle plate. very slight gains can be expected from removeing this material and making it 52mm straight though, but if you have access to cnc machines I would go to town and bore it to 55 or larger and fab a new throttle plate.
