well I replaced the headgasket and just recently got it running again and it was going well and then that little needle starts to rise and as it does the air coming from the A/C gets warm not hot but not nearly as cold. if I stop for 5 minutes or so it gets back to the normal mark and tada! cold air again. I don't know whats going wrong here the only thing i can think is when the radiator gets real hot it heats up the air around the condenser and makes it not as cold. I have never owned a car that makes me this fustrated please help, also i have flushed out the radiator with water but someone told me that I might should have a radiator shop "rot" it out? what is involved with this?

oh also when i replaced the headgasket I went ahead and replaced the waterpump, timing belt, and had new valve guide seals installed, oh and i also replaced the temp sensor and sending unit just for good measure so i'm running out of cooling related things to replace lol and I've already checked and my radiator hoses aren't collapsed

Are the cooling fans coming on when you turn on the A/C?

Well it sounds like that the radiator is the only thing that you haven't replace or checked. So I would say that is probably the problem. It is a good possibility that the radiator is clogged up. You could have a radiator shop clean it out, but sometimes that will weaken the radiator, they use strong chemicals like acid to clean it out. I have had it done with no problems and I have had it done before and the radiator sprung leaks after a few days of use. Also something else just came to mind. It maybe possible that you have air trapped in the cooling system.

Really sounds like one of your fans is shutting off when you start driving for some reason..

well i'm gonna drain it and take it to the radiator place monday there is a place here that does it real reasonable if that doesn't work I may just push it off a clif lol

or buy a new radiator...

that happened to my NA... one of my fans wasnt turning on... just run the car and see if both fans start up when theyre supposed to...i replaced the fan and i also replaced my radiator with an aluminum one (which u can get cheap on ebay) and replaced hoses. i NEVER had n e probs after that. until then, u'll have to blast the heat in your car to release the heat from the engine bay. pain in the ass i know, but its worth not overheating your car.

Sounds like a problem I had in the past, but the problem went away right after I put ground wires on my car, but I am not sure if that has anything to do with the A/C problem though. As you can see I posted that more than 2 years ago, and my A/C is still going strong in the hot LA summers.

hmmmm.... makes me think of something when i was replacing the headgasket i had to take off the heat shield on the exhaust manifold anyway the shield was damaged in the process and i wasn't able reatach it could this have anything to do with overheating/ a/c problem???? just a thought

turns out it was the radiator! all this time and trouble and it was a stopped up radiator it runs nice and smooth now muuuuuuuhooooohaha
