Does a udp affect long term reliability of engines???

The only reason to worry about a UDP hurting your engine is if it eliminates a harmonic balancer or a serious damper. The UDP for the 2GNT replaces the stock pulley which has a rubber insert separating the hub from the pulley part. It does a little damping, but probably just to eliminate a funny vibration that consumers might not like. It is not a serious enough damper to worry about.

Yeah the 420A motor doesn't have a balencer, and with the UDP on the motor, there should be less stress on the pulleys and berings on the acc's too, which would make them last a little longer. Excellent mod, worth about 10HP, more pull in the top end, for 160 bucks, just do it!

Exactly, the main vabrations they are concerned with are on engines that have a harmopnic balancer, with is weighted differently and keyed to the crankshaft to help pull the crank in the direction it needs to go conunteract the vibrations. We have a harmonice damper which doesn't depend upon weight to help the crank at all. And by reducing the weight the pulley puts less stress on the crank.

Go for it, you'll be happy with the results.

i would think so, anything to lighten the load on the engine so more power can go to the ground is good in my book.
