Hey Guys,

My swap is just about done.
The parts of my setup that apply are:

JE 8.5:1
Crane #14 Grind
Vortech FMU
HRC In-Line 550 HP Fuel Pump
Stock Fuel Pump Intank

The idle is about at 1500, when the HRC is not bipassed and working it shoots to almost 3000 at idle.

What would cause this to happen? Did we maybe overlook something strapping everything back on the motor? Previously with stock cams my idle was at normal, what should the idle rpm be for the 14s?

The idle speed should be the same no matter what cam you put in there. Sounds to me like you could have a vac leak somewhere...but it could also be that you haven't let the car warm up enough. I've notice that after I disconect the battery the cold idle will always be a be a bit higher than it was before. But if I let it warm up it comes back down to normal. If its just not coming down off of 1500 then you have some kind of vacuum leak. Check the TB and intake manifold gaskets.

Yep, you must have a vacuum leak or left a sensor off. Perhaps you forgot to put the EGR back on? Or forgot to plug the IAC in. I idle exactly like stock (750 RPM) with Crane 14's.
