What can I do to my 420a to make it quick(er)? I know turbo but that is later. I know Nos but I don't want to blow up my motor. Are there any mods I can do to this motor? Maybe even ones that will compliment a turbo later?
Sorry I am new to the import scene and it is hard to do a search on where to start with your motor. I also know there are probably 101 different ways to go, but if you could throw me a few or a general ideal. Thanks guys!!

On the home page go to the tab labeled "Mods, tech, and more"..... then click the link that says "Stages"..... then click the next link that is titled "Power stages". This is a great place to start off.

get an actual cold air intake (like AEM), also UDP (under drive pulley) gives a decent increase. Bigger throttle body (55mm or 60mm) catback exhaust, 3 inch would complement turbo.
most people rebuild at least the bottom end before slapping on a turbo; www.exileracing.com and www.howellautomotive.com offer good rebuild kits and parts mentioned.
im wanting to go turbo, but Im gonna do the master rebuild kit (top+bottom from howell). For me, I noticed the biggest increases when I installed the UDP and 60mm TB. Exile will port+polish+port match your intake mani which I hear is a good mod. Dont fall for ebay OBX ones, or the $500 Venom ones. Good luck

if you do plan on going turbo later, than seriously just keep saving your money, because before you know it, you could spend just as much money with little bolt-ons, but as far as something that would compliment a turbo, an exhaust would it's up to you what size you get, but you'll lose some back-pressure if you get something like 3" piping, so i'd stick with maybe 2.5, an UDP would compliment, but isn't necessary, nitrous won't blow up your motor if you use it right, but i guess since you are new to the import scene and you probably don't know that much thats not the best route, though if you wanted to go that route there is plenty of information on it on this site, so basically, if ur gonna go turbo, save up for either a star kit or an Hahn Racecraft kit, or you can make ur own for a bunch less, just gotta search around this site a little more!

Thanks guys for your input and time! I have heard something about using a GS-T Exhaust. Is this possible? If so what do I need to get? The muffler, piping, cat, whole thing?

yes, the GS-T exhaust will bolt in place of your existing crappy exhaust with no modification whatsoever. Just get the whole cat-back system, shop around, you can usually get them for very cheap.

For the record, the only difference between the GST catback and the 2GNT catback is the addition of a second resonator just before the rear cross member and the muffler on the end. The piping is the same, but the resonator should improve the tone while the muffler frees up flow. Definitely an easy, affordable mod with documented benefits. I have a built engine and am getting ready to install one while I play all motor a while longer.
Also, before we have more people go on about how you should just save your money and not buy bolt-ons or bother with doing anything but save for a turbo kit, consider this: To make any serious power in any form, you're going to have to tear into the motor. You might be quicker with a turbo kit on stock internals than built, all motor car, but in the end, your turbo kit is still just a bolt on itself. It requires tuning, yes, but anyone can just slap a kit on in an afternoon.
I've said it before and I'll say it again, the only difference between my all motor build and my upcoming turbo plans are my exhaust/intake routing, fuel injectors, some tables in the MSnS, and maybe, maybe some different cams. There is no rule that says you can not do both.
You are not wasting your time or money by learning about your engine by starting off with smaller, simpler projects for it. Just keep your goals reasonable and you will be just fine. This site was created for the 2nd Generation NON TURBO DSM, people. You don't have to have a turbo kit. It's not the only way to go. Jeez. :rolleyes
EDIT: And yeah, stay awy from any of those aftermarket manifolds. They are worthless - especially if you're not boosted.
