alright, well for awhile now my idle has been lumpy in the 700-800 range..so i took the TB off to check my IAC, put it back on and the idle went from bein real low...to like revvin up to almost 3k at startup then comin back to around 1.8k or so..i ended up replacing the IAC and somehow i have no CEL's at all lol..but the idle is still like that...i checked for leaks and i found it hissin decently bad where the TB meets the intake mani..so i looked at that and there was a black ring (guessin the TB gasket or intake mani gasket?)...but there was only half of it there lol....i thought it was the TB gasket but it was actually ON the intake mani...anybody know what gasket it is?...and im guessin tahst whats causin the high idle right?...TIA

edit- i also noticed if im drivin (doesnt matter what gear)..and let off the throttle, even lightly, it bucks for a second...sometimes a few seconds but not usually

just get some gasket material and trace it out instead of trying to get a new gasket that is pre-cut or whatever. Did you adjust the IAC any?

where do i get gasket material?..like any autozone or advanced auto or somethin like that?...and how do i adjust the IAC...i just took it outta the box and screwed it in lol...i also read i need to take it 2 the dealer 2 get it reset?

Mods: Doesnt really matter b/c unless i go turbo, i can RUN faster than my car :P

ya thats the gasket for the TB. It's just a hard gasket material and seals up around the TB so there are no vacuum leaks. If your missing that much of your gasket then yes your idle will be thru the roof. If it's a small vacuum leak your IAC can compensate somewhat for that but it' will still be lumpy. Take off your TB and go to like napa or some parts store and get DIY gasket material. Lay down your TB on it and Mark it off. Make sure you leave a hole in the bottom for your IAC valve to let air in. It should be quite obvious what to do when you get everything together. It's really not hard maybe take 30 minutes if your lollygagging around. That should take care of your high idle.

alright just a few questions left..1) i've never done any w/ gasket material so does it just stick 2 the metal or do i glue it down?..2) how do i disconnect the throttle cable 2 get the TB completely off? ( i just turned it sideways 2 get the IAC off)..i read the how-to in chiltons and it just seemed confusing..and 3) do i need to get my IAC reset w/ an OBD-3 or whatever since i put a new 1 in?

To take the throttle cable off completely just hold "open" the throttle and play with the cable where it connects. It is a similiar design to your hood opener. It doesn't take much to wiggle it off. Then there is just connectors to your TPS and IAC. Also there is a wire tie down to the throttle body that you will probablly want to disconnect aswell. Also the vacuum line that goes to the TB. I haven't had much experience with gasket maker but I don't think you will need to do any "gluing".
