i bought a 98 eclipse with an obox intake manafold and ram air intake. It has full greddy exhaust from headers back. the car will never idle below 1200 rpm. and some times the car will spit and spidde for a moment when idleing. i think that is because the egr is not hooked up because the intake system. The car seems to have less power then a stock car. should i try and find a stock manafold? also there are some wires that are not hooked up because of the obox manafold. does someone have instruction on how to hook it up?

im gona bet you have a vac leak somewhere.

ditto. also assuming you have an obx intake manifold id look for a factory one anyway, sounds like whoever you got the car from didnt hook it up right, i have the same year, make and model running a factory manifold ported and polished and an aem short ram with no egr and i idle fine at about 800rpm so you definatly have a leak somewhere you should hear it pop your hood start her up and listen!

thanks i didn't think about that. one of the hoses in the back some how got almost riped all the way off i will be trying to fix it in about 10 mins. thanks

ok i changed the hose and its a stiff hose and it feels like it is kinking. and still idles high what now.

ok you cant give up on one hose, make sure you check them all also make sure your not leaking at the egr blockoff make sure your throttlebody isnt leaking? you would hear a hizzzzzzz. make sure your throttle plate is closeing all the way. make sure the tension is correct on your throttle cable. you gotta have a leak there somewhere or something isnt adjusted correctly, your car should idle at around 800.
