91016, Rebuilding engine with turbo dreams in mind.

Hey guys. I searched for a while looking for something that would answer my question, but couldn't find a good response. I need 2+2=4. A list would be great.

At first I was going to do an engine swap, but with all those posts here, I decided my best route would be taking note of that you stated in other posts, rebuilding the engine and upgrading as needed for a turbo inclusion.

So, my question is this: Other than what is included in a "Rebuild Kit", what things should I buy if I am going to get a turbo kit later on?

I want to take advantage of the engine being rebuilt and have the parts for, whatever needs to be done, to include a turbo placement in my car later on.

**My Car: 1997 Eagle Talon ESi, 420A with 200,xxx miles on original engine.**

Those that know, thank you in advance for your help, and although I'm a "n oo b": flamers can burn to dust.

That kit will do both the top and bottom end. Most here go with just the bottom end since our top end is pretty stout. This is the kit I bought. You will need to buy a few gaskets thermostat, intake set head gasket if you go with the below kit. You will also need to get a bunch of different sealants.

Here is the master sealant thread.

No you don't. Then you would flame the knobs and burn to dust. :)

thats what i used in my winter rebuild and i just got the 400 mile break in on it. real nixe so far, grabs great, no slipping. i dont like the chatter though, but hell, i can deal with it. good quality clutch IMO. i also did the neon tranny swap too and i like the longer gear ratio as well!
