i have a ported and polished head, nitrous, aem cai V2, greddy headder and downpipe, with a high flow race cat. I still have the factory catback and muffler but i want to upgrade. What would be a nice sounding muffler to add to this setup. I want it to be deep sounding and a loud but nothing erratic though. Thanks in advance

I wonder how many other people here want an exhaust upgrade that is nice and deep, but not too loud, then wondered if the GST rear section would match up. :rolleyes

a lot of people will tell you that a gst catback is the way to go. now try to find one. you could also do what i did: buy a greddy evo catback if you've got the money. It's deep, not to loud, and it sounds AMAZING. I have mine combined with a greddy header and crower 2's. When you hear it idle you want to cream in your pants and when i get on it....thats another story. greddy evo all the way. got mine for 425 shipped/new. one more thing, use the search

In terms of value, you can't beat it. That's why it's so hard to come by. If you're serious about getting one, you will find they're not that rare. I found two out east, but held out for one closer. Ended up finding one in Tucson. Guy wanted $90 for it and I talked him down to $30. That's $30 for a stock-appearing, actual performance gain. Can't wait to go pick it up this weekend. }(

howd you find that many? when i tried to find one i couldnt. hell, i posted on dsmtrader specifically asking for a stock gst muffler and got nothing but people trying to sell me 3" n1 and hks catbacks.

Back when i had my n/t, i got one shipped to my door for $20... now i have a gs-t and am going to upgrade the catback section sometime soon whenever money permits...

correct me if I'm wrong, but isnt the GS-T center pipe the same diameter as ours? I got a GS-T muffler and piping and it bolted right up to the flanges on my center pipe, gasket and all. I think the only difference in the GS-T center pipe is that it has an extra resonator. I love the sound of my GS-T muffler, it sounds deeper than most import aftermarket cat-backs, and more like a beemer exhaust with a nice deep tone, louder than stock but not loud enough to ruin the highway ride or attract 5-0.
I think that if you go GS-T parts, you just need the muffler, and if you need a larger diameter to accomodate your engine/intake mods you need an aftermarket system.
