When getting an engine rebuilt, they always say, Deck the block.
What is Deck the block means? and what they do to the block?

Also, some machine shop say Bore the cylinders, some say bore with stress plate. what is the difference? and what they do? or help?

Last one is, whey then say Grind the Crank, some say index grind the crank, is it alot better? what is the improvement again?

deck the block is just resurfacing it. Just makes sure its perfectly flat and will seal with the new resurfaced head. Don't know about the others though.

Bore with stress plate means they use a torque/stress plate when they bore to simulate the force of the head once the motor is built.

And chances are your not going to need to grind the crank if it wasn't damaged. If it was damaged they can grind it down and smooth it out, then use oversize berrings to take up the slack.

No. Unless you're some hard core race driver, I highly doubt any brand of bearing will mean anything for you. Just make sure they're installed corectly and are within tolerance.

FYI: almost all bearings are manufactured by Dana Corperation. Clevite, oem, topline, toca, federal mogul etc.

composition on all of them is exactly the same.

if the crank doesnt need to be turned, get Mopar. If it needs to be turned, get Clevite.
