Slow? Read here:
http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topics&forum=11
Think this should have been in that (racing) section.
They can run anywhere from 16.7's down to mid-high 15's depending on track conditions and driver skill. I had a long list of bolt-on's, cams, lots of other things, and was able to crank out a 15.26 all motor.
I'm sure everyone's about to say 'save youre money and buy a turbo', but it really depends on what you're trying to do. If you're looking for a quick car, go turbo. If you just want to play (or are on a small budget), buy minor bolt-on's and have fun.

Uh...well good luck with that. We get a ton of kids who come on here saying the same thing and they can't come close to touching Todd and his 14.something run.

HAHAHA. GOod god. It's only people who don't know shit that would make a claim like that or plan to waste their money on bolt ons.
No offense to any all motor gurus but shit........If your happy running 15's then get bolt ons. :)
But a 15 second car is fucking slow :shrug
ETX said it best and I quote "First mod to the 2gnt - TURBO, First mod to the 350Z - TURBO"
So just going by someone who know's they're shit, I'd follow that advice and save your money for a turbo kit.
BTW: you'd be able to get more power running 3psi of boost than all the bolt ons you can throw at it. :P

AND, have less money spent. And since you're auto, I HIGHLY doubt it's going to happen.

its a good goal.... you will most likely never come close.... but none the less its good to have a goal.
For instance: My goal is to get my FUCKING LAMBO DOOR KIT to work right.... may never happen.... but it will DEFINITELY never happen if i dont have the goal :)

hey m3rk, we're telling you this info for a reason. Because people on this board know their shit. You will find the best advice and find that anything you think have has been done and answered on here 1,000 times or more. Take advantage of everyone's replies and this forum.
Automatic eclipses ARE slow. Many people have modified and added bolt-on's to their auto's but end up struggling to get 16's on the 1/4 mile. Manual eclipse with some bolt-ons and practice can get you into the 15's.
A goal of the fastest auto is fine, but we're just letting you know up front that if you add every bolt on and strip down the car's weight you still looking at 16's.
People are 'flaming' you because we get a question like this all the time and want everyone to use search so we don't repeat the same info. Here's the search link: http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=search&select_forum=5 Also, proper spelling of common words and good grammar should be used so that everyone understands what you are talking about and you don't sound like a 4 year old.
(Scott's misspelling 'jeebus' was obviously intentional.)

Seriously dude, kill the attitude. I know these guys can be dickish, but you can avoid the flamed out responses by using a little intelligence. Here's a good starting list:
Step #1 - USE THE SEARCH BUTTON, before anything else, this way you will avoid asking the same question multiple times thereby upsetting people (and leading to flame posts) and avoid using up bandwidth (and thereby causing us to upgrade to a more expensive site)
Step #2 - USE PROPER ENGLISH, unless you are from a foreign land (which we get occasionally and we accept) use proper English as spoken by anyone with an ounce of class in America. Occasionally some will dilute the intelligence of what they're saying with an LOL or an IMO, but for the most part we try to keep it coherent.
Step #3 - DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE, MAKE REFERENCE TO "THAT" MOVIE. You know which one I’m talking about; it's not worth it. That type of idiocy is reserved for other boards, or the members here, which we could not exist without and thereby tolerate out of necessity. You are not the latter.
Step #4 - DO NOT PISS OFF A MOD, they are bigger than you and will beat you up and take you're lunch money. Seriously though, keep on good terms with as many people as you can, don't pull attitude just to be e-cool or an e-badass, it doesn't matter here.
Step #5 - (optional) BUY ME STUFF, cause I like stuff and have no money. Buy me nice stuff, but not to showy (that's just tacky)
If you follow these four/five basic rules, you'll get along just fine here, and you'll learn a lot about these cars.

i appreciate you tellin me this. I had a 98 ls1 tran am with a 4l60e tranny, reason why i love autos..buh i guess this trans on my talon is bottel A neck..

90210, RE: typical bolt on times for 2gnt ?? Posted by Blizare, Jun-03-05 10:28 AM
Actually your whole outlook on going N/A is your bottleneck.
The automatic tranny just soaks up more power than a manual.
There are plenty turbo'd with the A604 tranny and they're doing fine :P

90212, RE: typical bolt on times for 2gnt ?? Posted by Eric, Jun-03-05 10:37 AM
no problem.
I remeber some auto's talking about a "Final Drive Mod". Here are some links: http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=33&topic_id=2708&mode=full http://www.2gnt.com/nuke/modules.php?op=modload&name=FAQ&file=index&myfaq=yes&id_cat=5&categories=Automatic+Tranny#21 Here is also the general 'power stage' write up. HP may be a little bit over the top but it is a good order to follow and lists many, if not all bolt-ons that you can do. http://www.2gnt.com/nuke/modules.php?name=Sections&op=viewarticle&artid=51

There's plenty to do to an automatic car, it'll just be approx. 1 sec. slower in the 1320 then an equally modded manual. Knowing that Im still sticking with my automatic for now too. Just make sure your goals are ibtainable and get a good game plan, keep your head out of the cliuds and here in reality.
