So I just blew my second oil pressure sender. Called autometer. They guy I spoke with said they are prone to blow in high vibration/noise situations (interesting for something meant to be in the block!). So he sent me a new unit and 5 feet of braided line. He told me to mount it remotely using a conduit pipe hanger! Brilliant!!!

My question, if I mount it on the top of the firewall foir access, will it affect my readings???

A product that fails for 90% of the people multiple times is not awesome in my book.

I don't mean the product is awesome, I feel their timely, one call, resolution is what is cool!

Remote mounting is actually preferable so that you don't transmit vibration directly into the sender. The only thing i have on the back of my block is a 3/8ths pipe -> -4AN adapter, which feeds a -4 line to a distribution block.

My greddy oil pressure gauge came with a remote mount flexible steel line. I never used it though.

That's what I need to do. Where did you get that distro block?

I'm not sure where it came from. Another local guy did it, then i had him put one together for me...

just put my autometer sending unit/oil pressure gauge in last week, how long did it take for yours to go bad?

thanks; what was the behavior of the guage when i blew? did it peg out to 100 or just give you all around crazy readings, id hate for it to sit at zero and me thinking OMFG no oil pressure.
