well i know the blinky air/fuel autometer gauges are not too accurate, so i was wondering, i dont have the money for a wideband for about another 2 months, sooooo, i was wondering if there is anything better out there, maybe for like 100 bucks or so that is better than the blinky gauge to read air/fuel so i dont run too lean...?

i believe corbin has a write up for creating your own digital a/f meter. Search for corbins a/f writeup.

how accurate is the volt readings on the s-afc of the o2 sensor? if that is good, i could just go off that really.

I got the gadget seller blinkety autometer gauge and its good stuff and accurate. If you don't like the blinkety one just get the volt meter looking one.

the apexi turbo timer shows theoretical afr and the o2 sensor voltage, along with battery voltage. And its a turbo timer! :+

If you are going to buy a wideband in 2 months I would save the money and be $100 closer to the wideband cost.

Listen to this guy. You are just wasting your money if you buy one cheap one that's still inaccurate, and real a/f wideband gauge. If you need a turbo timer though, the apexi is great with the extra features. Just don't tune with your a/f with that.

i have the blitz turbo timer. how accurate is the volt readings on the s-afc's? cuz i have my afc hooked up, but i dont know how accurate that is either, anyone know?

one've the only digital a/f gauges i've seen that fit in standard gauge pods.

i imagine you can just but that now and when you get a WB 02 just have the gauge read from there instead of the stock 02

anything that uses the stock o2 sensor is NOT accurate enough to tune by....get a wideband to tune, thats it

The blinky air/fuel gauges aren't inaccurate because they're blinky, it's because of their resolution and because of the voltage map. A wideband sensor will have a very steady graph, the voltage increases directly to the air/fuel ratio, just a straight line diagnolly across the graph. The standard narrowband sensor is more of a (man it's been years since geometry) logarithmic graph, where it'll have a sharp slope up to a point, I believe about .8v and then curve around to a very small slope (it's really a curve with a constantly diminshing radius). I hope this helps, I don't remember where the graph of this was, but it's around here somewhere. Basically, if you are going to buy good stuff soon, just save your money for the good stuff, no use buying it twice (would you buy a typewriter today if you were going to buy a computer next week?).

yes stock o2 sensors are ONLY accurate at stoich, thats it.
