I saw that car firsthand, and I have that guy's 420a engine in my garage.

It ran in GST form for about 10 miles, and the axle misalignment shredded the tranny. He gave up and sold both cars and both engines, claiming on ebay that "It only needs a little work".

He invested about $8000 (mommy paid for most of it), tore up a perfectly good 1G, and got about $2000 total out of the parts once he broke everything and gave up.

Never once admitted he was wrong, or that it didn't work, just stopped coming back to DSM boards.

it should have never been attempted in the first place. it was a waste of money to start that. If you want a GST that bad, sell the N/T and buy one. Then someone who would take better care of the N/T will appreciate it more.

Had the nerver to ask for my help and then Insult me and kept calling my cell with bullshit threats and insults. I warned him, that a BATTERY shop did not have the know how to pull it off.

I bought his engine and tranny since it was sitting there at that battery shop. Now Dan has the block and I have the 5 spd in my car.

He also claimed the tranny was a "racing tranny" LOL, right.... Same shit, not even the neon gears...

Sad sad events... I fealt like kicking ass at that shop...They even ripped him off... charged him for all their fuck ups, he had to provide the parts and spare car and he ended up paying for a spare car. All financed by mommy... I feel sorry for her.

he did a complete GSX AWD swapwith a custom made driveshaft because of the longer wheelbase of the Avenger
he's a very talented mechanic
his Avenger was born with a 420a he did a full v6 drivetrain swap and about 1 year later he bought a smashed GSX and used every single parts for his swap most of the parts didn't even had to be torn apart like the suspensions were swapped as a whole assembly
he's not the average backyard mechanic guy

there's also an eclipse converted in Quebec but I think they welded a complete GST front clip to a smashed ESI talon

If someone really wanted to do that.. and they found a gst that was smashed in the rear. That would be the quickest and easiest way to swap it. There is a shop not far from here that rebuilds wrecked camaros and Firebird/Trans Ams this way.

hmm I remember on tuners I saw a 4G63 swap in a maroon 2GNT. I don't see why it wouldn't work if you knew what you were doing. But if I were going to do it might as well get an evo motor instead :P
