well, my tps sensor went bad about 2-3 weeks ago and i thought nothing of it...figured it was just bad....now it shit the bed again... the pockelogger is reading from 7%-36% at WOT....its supposed to be like 80%...anyways, i know its bad, i just want to know why they keep going bad....any clues? the wires are still in good shape... thanks

do you have a SAFC, I did and the wires are soo small that they got cut and caused funky readings like that with the TPS sensor.

BUT IMO its not the sensor, its the wire going to it is shorting out somewhere or its the safc if you have one

Yeah, don't assume it is the TPS without checking the resistances on it first. The Chilton manual has a baseline ohm reading the TPS should be putting out at a certain temp I beleive, and after checking if that is in range, you should keep the ohmmeter on the TPS and make sure it has a linear change in resistance as you move the TPS from closed throttle to WOT. Find someone with a Chilton manual and a multimeter and make sure if it is the sensor or not before replacing it and wasting money. Good luck getting the sensor out. That $hit is locktited in like the sword in the stone.

no...ive had it out a couple of times...i have a jeep tb...anyways, i was able to rebuild both of my sensors and they both work fine...it seems like water might of got inside it or something and shorted the wires out causing a reading of 100% all the time... either way, i know how to rebuild them now and its working...i dont know why they both did that, but its fixed...thanks
