89548, Lifter tick?

I thought what I was hearing was piston slap since I just finished a full rebuild, but it sounds like it's coming from above piston #1. I have SBI rockers and lashers that are almost brand new, so what could it be?? If it is lifter tick, what do I do about it? Do I just deal with it?

Hey, have you seen my tail lights? Yeah, well get used to looking at them.

if its commin from the lifter than its either the lifter itself or something causing low oil pressure in that one lifter, but usually if you have low oil pressure it would be on all of them, so yea get a new lifter

Wait until you run it for awhile until you pull the lifters. Mine chattered a little after my rebuild too. But after I put some miles on it they stopped. I have SBI lifters too.

did you bleed them in fluid before you installed them? also switching to a thicker oil usually will quiet them down

I forgot to bleed them before I re-installed them, I was going to, but completely spaced it. Do you think I messed anything up? I knew I was going to forget to do something.

I did bleed mine. I may not have done a good job. I also use 5w-30 oil. so that may have contributed. It didn't take em long to pump up though.

I doubt that you messed anything up BTW.

well, I've driven my car for 65 miles since the rebuild and it's still ticking for over cylinder #1 from the head, will a loud lifter tick hurt anything? Or should I just keep driving it?
