if you're n.a. i wouldn't go any higher than 2.5", doesn't have to be straight pipe, just run it above the axle like stock

If you want to sound like a honda go for it.

Yeah, agree with above ^^^^. Stay with what you got, after market exhausts sound like piss. I had a GST muffler on my car until I went turbo and I loved it. Here's a little trick not too many people do .... drop your midpipe and you'll see there is all kinds of heat sheilding all over it. Between the heat sheildling and the actual exhuast pipe is a layer of insulation-like material. Break/rip all that stuff off so that you just have the exhuast pipe - reinstall. It'll be just a tad louder, and don't worry, all that heat sheilding is useless, it won't hurt the car to not have it. If emissions aren't an issue where you live gut your cat too and you'll be plenty happy.

don't run a testpipe, you'll hate it (and its annoying for other people on the road too)

a gutted cat is another option, or you could install an exhaust cutout in front of the cat and open if when you feel the need.

loud exhaust setups suck on the interstate for extended periods of time.

Sooth.

The cat is good. I can't wait to reinstall mine and score a GST rear section. Not that I won't miss being able to piss of people who make ten times the money I do by riding 2nd gear at 4000rpm while they're on the phone stuck in traffic next to me, but that it's just too damn loud. Ask anyone who's heard it. It's just too. Damn. Loud. x(
