89310, Charging System Light

This light came on today while I was driving. The car runs fine, but when I start it up, the car has a hard time starting or it won't even start at all. What should be the first thing I look at?

Altenator... Its either dead or not making a good connection somewhere. Take it to autozone they will test your battery and alt for free.

check the cables, my light came on and had the same symptoms (plus a nice radio cutout on brake application) and turned out the cables were loose.
