I swapped the engine and now there is no spark. Is there a difference between ecu's and also between any of the sensors?

a little more info would be more helpful, there is little differences in our(2gnt) ECU's if that helps.

It is a 420a, the motor cranks but it does not get spark. I smell the fuel and hear the pump so i know that is not the problem. Just no spark.

You really need to get into more detail. We can start by saying you forgot to put the spark plugs or wires in. It could be a sensor not plugged in. It could be as simple you forgetting to put the magnet back on the exhaust cam for the cam sensor, but nobody will know where to start because nobdy knows what you have done. Did you do a complete motor swap, or just the head or block. You could have the coil plug swapped with the whatever sensor.

actually you will get spark if you dont put the magnent in, it will just take a bit. When i first got my car there was no magnent in it and it would take about 5 seconds of cranking and then it would start fine. I eventaully solved the problem and starts right up.

not to disrespect...but are you SURE thats right? everything iv heard says you must have all the magnets and sensors in place because the compu must read BOTH signals (triggered by a magnet) in time, to be able to supply spark. i dont see how any ammount of cranking would solve the issue of no signal.

Don't forget the ASD relay that could be it too. To answer your question check everything under the hood that you touched or didn't touch, but if you had some more info we might be able to narrow it down...
