I've searched and what I've read I've only caught parts of it and I really cant understand exactly what it is. What I think I have of an understanding is that it blocks exhaust gas that goes into the cylinders which then decreases power. Also that it'll keep my intake mani and tb cleaner. Oh and that its hard to get my CEL of after doing this mod. So........where is the exact location for where I'd need to put the metal piece in to block it off?? And what is the whole resistor thing. I have no idea on what to do with one. So please help me out here. Thanks!!

If you have searched and still not found the answers i really don't think you read enough. This is one of the most covered topics on this forum. Blocking the "Exhaust Gas Recirculation" valve from returning half burnt air and fuel mixture back into your intake manifold will lower intake temps and keep your intake path cleaner. There is a spot on the back of the intake manifold that the hard metal pipe returns the air. You block that off with sheet metal and remove the piping and the metal valve (looks like a BOV) attatched to the head. You also block off the head that allows the gas to go into the valve. You will get a CEL, you can remove this by using a 10 watt 100 OHM resistor. When you see it you will think "damn that's huge" well ya it is, use one of each wires coming out of the side and plug it into each input on the connector attatched to the EGR. Wrap it up and keep them from touching each other with elec. tape. Tie it up somewhere and everyonce in a while you will have to reset your ECU to get the CEL away. Also there is a vacuum line attacthed to the back of your intake manifold that you will have to cover with a vacuum plug so you do not have a vacuum leak. If ya still can't figure it out after i wrote all this crap out... don't know what else to tell ya.

It doesn't do shit. I've had mine blocked off for a year now, never noticed a difference other than the pretty little CEL light coming on and going off at random.

and as far as keeping your intake track clean
a nice water injection system will take care of that as a side benefit

Unless an EGR is leaking, it is impossible for it to reduce power. And if it was leaking, especially at idle, you'd know. The EGR only opens at light cruise/light throttle applications, and thats it. Never at idle, never at WOT and never when the engine isnt fully warmed up. If your cat is doing its job, what basically leaves your tail pipe? Co2 and H20, right? The main ingredients of your everyday household fire extinguisher. By recirculating small, metered amounts of gas, you extinguish some of the flame in the combustion chamber. The EGR effectively reduces peak flame front temps below 2000 degrees, which in turns lowers NOX emissions and also reduces the chances of any detonation.

what if I wanna do it cause its in the way of my filter on my turbo?
