You have to cut out part of the fender splash guard to put it in.

Those are about the two best pics I have from back when my car had one of those intakes.

Dude that's exactly the same fucking one I had except for you don't have the mounting bracket half ass welded on. That big one on the bottom you cap off. Hell even the AEM one has that for some stupid reason, maybe for the old pulsed air injection system...I dunno.

Yeah, the big nipple is for 95's with the air injection system that's been removed on most all eclipses by now.
Also, if you pay a little more for a brand name intake, it will fit without modifying anything.

Yeah, I hated my eGay intake. It eventually broke the zip ties I had to use to hold it in after the bracket busted. Then I ran over it when it fell of my car on the highway.

I love my eBay intake. I only paid 50 bucks for it shipped and everything was good quality. Of course its no AEM, but then again, I also saved $150. You get what you pay for, but sometimes you pay too much.

I said the same shit when mine was fresh dude. When it's tumbling down the road like fresh road kill you'll change your tune.

I've had it for 2.5 years now and its still just as nice as it was when I bought it. Came with all stainless clamps and screws, anti vibration mount. I'm sure the AEM would be a lot nicer, but I wouldn't pay more unless I planned on showing my car, which I don't particularly see the point in doing anyways. Go before show. (guess I bought the wrong car hehe).
Didn't plan on trying to steal this thread, either.

i had that same cai for over a year, it was a tight fit between the throttle body and battery, mine actually rubbed a hole in the intake pipe from rubbing also i noticed the filter was 1/2 the size of the aem one, but i dont ever remember having to cut the splash guard on either eclipse 95 or 98 seems if i remember right the hole was already there, also got a used aem off ebay for $75 shipped. was the best deal i ever got on ebay, and the 2 systems are night and day installation wise! my 2 cents

I finally got it installed and I had to cut the splash guard and move the horn(I think it's the horn) up a little so the filter clears, it was the only way it would fit. I must say the engine screams around 4k-redline it sounds like a super fast machine gun I thought it's going to launch out the bay hehe, it's so much louder than just a cone filter on the stock tubing I had before

My POS EBay CAI had that little nipple too, and it saved my ass when I dragged the filter through a puddle. It was enough that the engine couldn't pull a foot and a half plug of water up past the nipple into the intake and hydrolock the engine. I love that little nipple, that nipple saved me a couple thousand dollars by just being unplugged. If you drive in the rain I suggest you just leave that nipple exposed. Maybe polish the nipple, you know, buff it out. Every once in a while give your nipple a good rub down to keep it looking good, afterall, nobody likes a funky looking nipple. I really enjoyed this post.

Why do you guys drive through puddles in the first damned place, let along with a CAI? Are you nuts?

Where do you live that it never rains and everyones sprinklers are perfectly timed? Are the hookers clean and give blow-jobs for free as well?!?

It's little late now...but when I had my ebay intake I cut off the last bend and stuck the filter on that. That kept the filter in the engine bay...I'm sure it wasn't getting as cool of air, but I thought it was more protected that way and I didn't have to cut anything on my car...I hate cutting anything on my car.
