I'm french and in europe we have only the GS model (with 4g63)..
I found many parts of GSX and the seller told me that it was possible to convert a GS to a gsx..

He has 1 4g63t
1 ecu
1 transmission
axles
clutch
complet rear diff.
drive shaft
water pump
alternator

Questions :
-Do you think it's possible to do the conversion with this parts?
-Do I have to buy any other parts ?
-Do I need necessary all this parts ?(clutch transmission axles water pump alternator or mine are goods (parts on my GS)

Please help me I don't know how US eclipses are (GSX and GS-T)

Wow interesting to know that the GS in europe has a 4g motor. How is the motor oriented? Are the Accy pullies on the drivers side...if so you can prolly do the swap. You would be following the gs-t to gsx swap guidelines really. more than likely you would need everythign under the hood for the turbo motor swap. probably the harness ECU and sensors/relays ect. This is not going to be easy. Unfortuneatly most of us have a different non turbo motor so we cant really supply you with all the details you will need.

Look up the 99 galant non turbo to turbo swap. that is a swap some have done with taking the 99 non turbo to a turbo. do that then look up the gst-gsx conversion. you are doing 2 conversions at once so you are looking at double the work.

I wonder how hard it is to import a gs from europe over here?

you didnt know the euro spec had a 4g63? well its set up basically the same way, from pics ive seen everything is in the same place.

You're going to need a new fuel tank also, along with some other things. check out dsmtuners.com, you will find much more help there since this topic is all 4g63 oriented... did that dude just kiss us??

They have a 4G63 NT in the GS models. Most of it will work with a little time and effort. I think you'll have to fuck with the gas tank though.

Yeah the euro-spec 2gnt is the 4g63 NT which means to turbo it you have to do a lot more than just slap on a manifold and t25 from a GST. There's a write-up on dsmtuners.com about it I believe.

...and the turbo ECU, a knock sensor, etc. There is a list of things to turn into a GST quite easily and the list is short. He'll be boosting on stock internals though. Creating a GSX is another story though. The undercarriage does not match a true GSX and one would still have to do some fabricating for the drive shaft, rear diff, etc. That not being so easy.

Why ????The € is to high at the moment and in europe, japan cars are not as chip as in USA...A car like mine with 120 k miles (1996) is about 12 000e (12000€ x 1.25 I think = Price in bucks)

Correct in the sense of converting your GS into a GS-T. All you're doing is adding compenents to your existing drivetrain.

There are lots of differences between a 4G63 powered GS-T and a 4G63 powered GSX. Namely everything tranny back. lol. The tranny is slightly different (I think), You have no rear drive shaft nor the compenents for the rear differential. I'm not saying it's impossible but there is going to be some fabrication involved. It will not be a bolt on affair.

Frenchie- Search the internet (not your shitty minitel ;) heheheh) for information on Eclipse Spyder turbo conversions or 4g64 turbo. It's the same process.

And "fucking with a gas tank" is slang for changing it around several times until it works.

The conversion you are proposing HAS been done, but it costs about as much as the car does... and that's if everything goes right.

ha ha this thread cracks me up. Hey dood can't you buy one of those Peugot 206's over there? Those things own! That's what I would do instead of spending all that $$$ to change a GS into a GSX. sorry to derail your thread though - I'll ferme la bouche now.

I gave you a list of things in the last post you made..

(this is for the N/T 4g63 to a turbo 4g63)
You will need:

"exhaust manifold
turbo
oil pan
all new oil lines and coolant lines for the turbo
oil drain pipe for the turbo to the oil pan
turbo ECU
possibly certain parts of the turbo car wiring harness
knock sensor
turbo cams (maybe)
new intake pipe
new MAS
air can
intercooler
intercooler piping (both lower and upper)
new exhaust (downpipe being the most important part)
all gaskets, o-rings, copper washers, bolts, nuts, etc

You will need a wastegate that can make the turbo run less than 10psi seeing as the pistons in the non-turbo block are higher compression and are not the same material as the turbo pistons. This screws up everything having to do with timing and the turbo ECU all together.

It will be Much, much easier to install a whole turbo 4G63 engine rather than bolting on parts. You will be limited to 8-10psi with a turbo on your stock block. It will end up being cheaper to drop in a 6 bolt 4G63t too."(Jeff99gs)

Now, except to make it a GSX you will also need the GSX transmission, driveshaft, rearend and gas tank I believe.

So.....is the euro spec 4g63nt the same as the 4g64 in our spyders?
My guess is probably close but slightly different displacement, correct? Sorry im an exterior and 420a guy. Not to mention the 69' Camaro im picking up:bowdown

4g63 = 2.0l
4g64 = 2.4l

Did anyone notice the mirrors in frenchmans sig? Are they eurospec or just aftermarket?

That's the mirrors they put on Eclipse's they shipped to Europe and Japan. They also have amber cornered tail lenses.

it has side marker lights on the front fenders too.
