I was pulling my head off today and I ran into this problem. When I took out the pass. motor mount then followed after that to take off the plate that bolts to the motor, I couldnt get it off because the bolts were too long. Has anybody ran into this problem and if so how did you remedy it? The only thing I can think of is measure the bolts and see if I can shave some off. Ive always had the whole motor out before when I took off the head so I never ran into this problem. So if anybody can shine some light on this, I would really appreciate it.

It is a bitch. I had to tilt the motor until I couls get the mount off. It takes some time but it can be done.

This is a notorious problem that has been discussed to death. The bolts and plate do come out, its a game to work it though. You need to tryt different combinations of motor height and wiggling. one bolt will come out with the plate.

Now some people have MADE a shortcut. They have bored holes through the frame to get to the bolts.

This is something that should be searched.

there are some hard lines in the way of one of the bolts, if you bend them up slightly you'll have a much easier time.

Just cut a 1" hole thru the fender well between the hard lines on the inside, and the brake lines on the outside. With the engine jacked all the way up, the bolt will slide out thru the hole.

or just use the hole thats already there you just need to remove the motor mounts (rear/front) then you can move the motor all over the place and use the hole thats there
