It reduces the amount of oil suspended around the crankshaft at high engine speeds, less air will be mixed with the oil . . . improving bearing life and providing a small horsepower increase. In addition, the main caps are stabilized and the tray will help prevent oil from splashing up the side of crankcase (away from the oil pump) while cornering. Something like that

Where did you get that from Turby? Looks good!

That's more of the functionality of a crank scrapper.

A windage tray helps to prevent air turbulence around the crank and within the crankcase/oil pan. Supposed to free up some horses on top end.

Actually he's right. They both do that. The windage tray is better for auto-X (cornering), while the crankscraper works better in straight line racing.
You can get the crankscraper at:

The windage tray I believe you can order from Bob Stockum: http://www.bstockum.com/index.html

Before this turns into a bitch fest both of you need to stop it now.....we are all tired of it.

For the record as most know a crankscraper and windage tray wont add horsepower but it will reduce variables that DO rob horsepower from you. Do some research on this Kyle........

Does look nice turby but i swear the pan in the picture looks cast alum.........or is the picture more of the scraper/windage tray.

its both yea, and i was talking to mr johnson about making them for the 420a eclipse :thumbsup...so look out for some new badass sheeit

the pic is of a cast alum pan for a 2.4 though, with the windage tray and CS placed on top. my pan is steel though, holds just north of 6.5 quarts

side note: if you have a 2.4 with no baffle or windage tray, and balance shafts removed...you've have severe oil control problems, so this is a must

edit: oh on another note, he also sells the oil pan with a built in block off for the oil port to the balance shafts :thumbsup...so no more blocking it off if you got one of these

kyle, listen bud...i dont have anything against you, so quit acting like a kid, and stop sending me ridiculous PM's. get over it.

There is now a 2.0 version of this. I ordered one, and it came in the mail today.

I'm looking forward to having oil pressure on a hard right turn.

and as a sidenote, you're going to need to modify the 2.4L one to work with the custom pan you have to make for the swap. PM me for more details if you want them. the thing is designed to sit almost RIGHT on top of the oil, and with a custom pan you have to change it up a little for the increase in oil volume. (at least i did anyway, my pan is 6.5 quarts)

This thing works very well. My car is no longer a NASCAR, I can take right turns. Yay. Installation went smoothly and the instructions provided with the kit were good.

For those of us with a turbo kit, you may or may not (depending on the exact location of the oil drain from the turbo) have to bend part of the windage tray out of the way so it will fit.

These setups were independently and meticulously dyno tested by Ed Peters. Ed is one of the guys that currently does prep work on the factory race cars.
