Just bought a Hayame upper front strut bar from another 2GNT'r and when I went to install it I overlooked the all to simple fact that Im slipping an 1/8th of an inch of metal over a 1/4 of an inch of stud and there's just not enough thread left to bolt down. Question is, whats the best way to get at/replace those studs so I can use this bar?

what else do you have on the studs??
there should be plenty of room.
you only need 3-4 threads of the nut to firmly hold it down.

but if you need to you would need to press them out with a HUGE press and then get some more studs from PEM or someone like that.
IMO there is plenty of room.

Besides, the nuts are there to keep the shock from falling out when the suspension is completely unloaded. Do you routinely jump your car? ;)

not routinely. It just seemed to me that there wasn't enough thread, actually I could barely get the bar on on one side and then it wouldn't go on the other side. I tried turning the bar around 180 degrees and it didn't seem to help. I know it goes on as it is used and has the marks to prove it, I just think it needs longer studs. Oh well, I'll figure something out. Thanks.
