8777, question on power steering and oil
Posted by Journeyski, Oct-15-01 03:51 AM
first question: I snapped my power steering belt acouple of weeks ago and replaced it. But since then when i turn the wheel all the way to the right or left you can here it screetching. i feel a little burp in the power steering when i first start my car and turn the wheel. Also when i go over 4k rpm i can here it screech a little. Is my power stering unit going bad or am i on the right track.
Second Question: I check my oil this mourning and saw some little bubbles on the dip stick. I just had the oil changed last week. Is their a problem here, what is the cause and should i take my car back and change the oil? thanks for the help.

Tighten your PS belt- it probably stretched a bit from the usage...

well i tightened the belt and i still have the problem. I think i may need to get a new power steering pump. Anyone know where i can pick up a good used one. Also no one has gotten back to me about bubbles in my oil. anyone have an i dea what causes this and will this damage my engine. If so i would like to get it fixed a.s.a.p.

Personaly I would never let anyone change my oil, I always do it myself.. That way I know what is being put in and I see how the oil looks everytime.... And plus It's not hard to change the oil on our cars 15-20min incl. filter change
