87506, What To Do To Add Power! Posted by ColtsNumba1Fan, Mar-27-05 05:12 PM
I'm asking the pro's at this, so what do you guys think that I need to do? I have Pacesetter headers, Vibrant catback Exhaust and a R1 Intake, I'm looking at a Pulley, downpipe, cat converter and maybe an intake manifold, but i heard it was too hard to get a turbo added to a RS or GS so I dunno what to do, I'd like to have the head rebuilt with some good stuff but once again do not know where to go to have it done or what the price would be. Some advice would be nice. Thanks Tray

It is not too hard to turbo an 420A, and in the end it pays off. It depends whether or not you want to do any work, or just have it turbo'd from the factory. Plenty of people on this forum or running star or hahn kits. Do some search's on turbo and you should get all the info you need. I plan to turbo my RS, but for now I am just too cheap.

No, turbo should be the 1st mod. Granted I sucked at putting my kit on but I started not even knowing how to change my own oil.

If you want real power on a 420a your best bet is buying a turbokit or doing a custom kit. Bolt on's are fun when your a beginner, but after awhile you realize you've spent a lot of money and still aren't happy or turbocharged.
 Gotta love winter

Yes, get one of these.

Only if you go turbo. NT it won't do shit but make you loud.

Best intake manifold for your car is the one that's already on it. Port it and polish it, but don't replace it.

Whoever said that is a moron. They must be refering to putting a GST engine (4g63) into your car which is rediculously hard and not worth it. But you can get a kit and put it on in a weekend and have a turbo no problem.
My advice, don't post, read. That's what I did for a long ass time. Read and learn, then do stuff. And stop wasting your money on non-turbo mods if you "plan" to go turbo. Just save your money until you can afford a kit.
