I have just rebuilt the 420a in my talon

I have 10.5 wiseco pistons, eagle rods, etc.

Head is milled to raise compression

starter barely turns it over and I think I may need a high torque
starter any help on where to get one or other ideas????

If you take the plugs out, so there is no compression being made it turns normal, but with them in the starter cant handle it. Do I need a hi torque or will a new standard one be ok? Or is it something else?

stupid question: Is your battery charge low?

Is your tranny bolted up straight? I had the same prob and thats what was wrong.
I run 10.5:1 and I didnt need any special starters. You dont either.

did you put the wrong size rod berings in? Just a little larger and you will clamp right down on the crank and that will slow her down quick. Mabey your starter is just dying slowly???
