well i got this GTECH pro thing and to make it accurate i need to know exact redline of the stock 97 RS 5 spd ECU and the total gross weight of the car. i think the weight is 3275 or somethin. is it the GVWR on the door label? there is like 3 #'s there.. also i dunno if it will be very accurate but i heard it can be.
thanks

to get the most accurate reading, go to a weigh station...or somewhere where they have truck scales.....cars weights will vary

Fuel cut is at 7200ish and ignition cut is at 7500. Other than the weights listed on the main page in the spec article your best bet on an accurate reading is to do the above listed. ^

I was aware that the 97 had fuel cut around 7200, but I wasn't aware that it had ignition cut at 7500. Isn't that a little redundant?

It might be some kind of law and obviously it is a safety precaution

No. Ignition is not controlled by the ECU.

Not really, think if you're running a wet nitrous kit and the switch malfunctions. It'll cut fuel, but you've still got fuel and nitrous being fed to the motor. It's always nice to have redundancies here and there, fault tolerance is good.
