I pulled the motor yesterday. Seperated the tranny and block today and the block is in the machine shop. My question is how do I reinstall the tranny and keep the clutch aligned? Will I need a clutch alignment tool?

I've been reading the old forums and it said remove the 4 flywheel bolts via access plate, and then the red tranny mounting bolts. And as far as reinstalling, is it, reinstall the clutch to the flywheel first, then the tranny? So in reality, i didnt need to remove the clutch from the flywheel to remove the tranny?

no re-alignment is required, and yeah, if you pulled the motor and trans out of the car you didnt really have to seperate the flywheel from the clutch.

unless you're a 95, good luck trying to seperate the flywheel if you had to. 99% of our cars come with modular clutch where the whole assembly is riveted together. What gumball really meant to ask is if he should separate the clutch from the starter plate. No. You can easily put the tranny back on when everything is out of the car.

Huh? Everything is out of the car. I have the modular clutch (everything riveted). And I'm a 95. What I did was separated the block, clutch, and tranny today. When I get everything back, how do I reassemble it? Bolt the clutch to the flywheel, (with no alignment tool?), then wiggle the tranny onto the clutch and bolt everything up, right?
