Look at it monitarily if you have to. How much is it going to cost to get it to the power goals you want(rebuild with forged internals/turbocharged) vs how much you can get out of it so you can get a gst.

well im surei can rebuild the car and meet/exceed the power of a gst stock(ie. buying one) but i just dont know if rebuilding the engine would be worth it if the car has 116k on it and i will need to start replacing more crap.

Well, I guess it depends on the condition of your car. If its in good condition and paid off, then I would definatly spend the money to have it rebuilt vs. buying a stock gst that you will probably spend extra money on anyway. There realy isn't that big of a differnce in the insurance costs between the GS/RS and the GST/GSX. But if you can spend 5000 on building an awsome motor rather than buying a mediocre GST than that would be the way to go.

yea i guess buiding a motor and any supporting mods that i might need from the car being old would be the way to go, I just figured buying a factory turbo would be a better idea since its turbo from the factory and built that way, i just dont want to get into any more problems do to this car being turboed =/ but i guess yea, the money i put in so far on other crap, i would have to start all over and i would have the car payment on my head and stuff.

Yes rebuild, I am doing so and it's not that hard if you know anything about cars. My friend has a GS-T, and man, I don't know about all of them, but his is a piece of shit, it's just one thing after another with that car. I just got done helping him and he's actually selling it to buy a GS so he can turbo it. I think it's awesome. But not all GS-T's are crap if you don't run into that 'ole crank walk crap. Definately rebuild man.
