ok, this is the best way i can tell....and to my knowledge...there is no way to get them on backwards like this.
ok, my casting numbers (or whatever...) is 609. mine are on time and the marks are aligned at current. from left to right (from intake cam going foward to exhaust cam) it goes 609 609. both numerals are right side up. so as long as your exhaust cam number is right side up and in the same order (is the same number lol) then that should let you know.
EDIT: the sprokets on which your numbers are stamped should be aligned as well. it should look like. (in my case)

Both gears are exactly the same..
