85601, Upper radiator hose ? Posted by blinkbizkit500, Feb-05-05 06:08 AM
Hey guys, my upper radiator hose is shot and needs to be replaced. Do you have to drain all the fluid out of the radiator to replace just the top one? Or can I just do it myself real quick without draining anything? TIA!

ya you can change it without draining the whole radiator. Some will come out but just have a bunch of rags.

That's what I needed! ;) Thanks man...so if that crap gets on the engine its no big deal? I mean I don't plan on letting it just pour out, but if some leaks out it won't do any damage or cause any problems right?

If I remember right, coolant is not a friend to paint. Just be careful about how messy you get. And make sure you watch the level when you're done. There will probably be a few air bubbles that need to find their way out of the system after you're done.

yea. let the engine get up to temp and crank the heat.
then with the rad cap open pour in until it's full while squeezing the upper rad hose to remove any air.
