well i am making a side pipe for my turbo kit and i would like to put the o2 in it now and seal it up before i put my kit on the car . but the only spare 02 i have is a 3 wire bosch one from a subaru. one red one black and one white wire. but i know my 97 rs has a four wire. two white one grey and one black. id imagine its a power grnd and signal and heater wire. so i assume the subaru one is just missing the heater wire. so would i still be able to use it for my front o2 signal or no? my rear one is taken care of by a resistor so i just need to run one.

Obvisouly the 4th wire is there for a reason. Why do insist on ghetto fabing your entire turbo setup??? Just do it right the first time and you won't be trouble shooting when you first start your car up and it runs like shit.
I almost guarantee you that you will throw a CEL when the ecu notices a wire isn't connected to your O2 sensor.
Just go to the autoparts store and buy one.

my setup aint. ghetto. its " low budget" . and it was a question so what. ill just wait and take it off my header when i put the kit on.

yea, well, my setup is low budget too but you don't skimp on a fucking sensor that had so much to do with how the engine runs.

I agree with Blizare.
There are some things that you can get by with, like intercooler piping which you can custom do.
Sensors are something that you don't want to skimp. They are vital to the correct tuning and running of the car.
Can it be done? I'm sure, most anything can be done.
I would recommend not to.

these work good. I ghettoed my o2 sensor and it threw a cel and fucked my smog test.
