85501, How can I solve the F....Code 51 Running LEAN ? Please Help ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡ Posted by obregonmanuel, Feb-02-05 02:36 AM
Last week I washed my engine, Why hell I do that....? first step was with liquid soap and second it was pressure wash water. I let the engine dry for and 30 min. then I star the engine and I drive to my work. The CEL come ON, when I check it, wonderfull, CEL 51 Running LEAN. This is the only one code that I got.
I check the MAP SENSOR and it´s OK, I check and dry every electrical conection in the engine compartment, include injectors rail with electrical contact cleaner spray from 3M, and the cell stil the same. I reset the ECU and the cel turn Off but after one day normal driving the fucking code 51 is back again.
Does anyone know any SUGGESTION about it?

All I can say is that OBVIOUSLEY water got where it shouldn't be.
Did the car run fine after and whatnot? No stalling/hesitation or anything?
Water in the sparkplug wells? :shrug I don't know what else to say?
I would reset the ecu again. Just leave the power off the battery for a while, let it sit and go try and start it the next day. Letting it sit for a 1/2 isn't going to evaporate any moisture.

Thanks for your coments. The car is runing fine, right idle, right star, right response, looks like everything is OK.
There is only one thing that I Note, The spark plugs have carbon deposit, this is logic so the ECU read engine running lean and so inject more gas.
I have no Code for O2 sensor, so Will be the O2 damage ?
