85044, Last hose on the car to be hooked up
Posted by Onnoffplayer, Jan-23-05 09:38 AM
The last hose on my car to be hooked up and i just can't seem to figure out where it hooks to. My car is a 97 eclipse RS. Now the connected end of the hose hooks to a metal line directly next to the evaporator coil lines. The metal line that it hooks to goes to a large cylinder shaped object underneath the frame of the car behind the passenger's headlight which i think is the charcoal filter. The hose that i can't figure what hooks to is very small in diameter but of normal length and is the smallest hose in the area. It looks like its supposed to go to somewhere by or underneath the coolant overflow reservoir. If i could figure out how to put pictures on here then i do have pictures of it. If anyone has any ideas about where it could go or can tell me how to put pictures on here then that would be greatly appreciated. Thanx everyone.

Isnt that the line that hooks to the metal line that drapes over the pass. side of the valvecover?

i don't think i have a metal line that goes over the valve cover, hehe, that may not be a good thing

Mine was a little bent in this picture. It gets bolted to the VC by the bolt down in the recess there at the center of the VC. Other end has vac line going to three-way on intake mani. You might get away with it, but you might also have idle issues without connecting it.

Plumb it to a vacuum source.. that's all it needs. it's part of the EVAP system.

You *could* get some high temp silicone hose and just run a longer hose from one barb to the other until you got the pipe, but I don't know how long it would last resting on the VC there. Food for thought if you really need/want the car running right away.

i prob am just gunna run some silicone tubing i have however now that i know it hooks to the intake manifold it brings up another question. I've used all my nipples for the intake manifold. Maybe i got one wrong. One goes to this plastic black box that bolts to the bottom of the intake manifold and has 2 hoses coming out of it, one to manifold and the other to another little device. Then another goes to this little black cylinder which i think is the fuel pressure regulator, but it has a little hose piece thats going to the intake manifold, a large hole with a plastic filtery covering looking thing on it and a place for a 2 prong connector. Next the EGR i have hooked to it also. So where would this last hose go to or do i have something on there wrong. Thanks for all the help too guys, yall been real helpful on here.

just out've curiosity, what were you doing that led to all these "extra pieces", and disconnected hoses?

*edit*
nevermind, read your post in the MTX section :P
