85040, Coolant temperature Gauge sending unit...voltage?

So my coolant temperature gauge is not working..the needle just sits about halfway all the time. I replaced the Coolant Temp Sensor (top one) and checked the voltages off that and it's good to go. Then I checked the sending unit (bottom one) The voltage on the harness side reads about 11 volts..plug it in and it reads 6 volts, is that normal? Also I can't seem to find a place that sells the sending unit besides the dealer. THanks

sounds like the wire or the sensor for the gauge is messed up.
The bottom sensor is your coolant temp sensor for the dash gauge.

Well I tested continuity between the sending unit and the back of the connector and it's good. Maybe I'll just mess with the gauge cluster and the needle.

check the RESISTANCE, not the voltage.

resistance should be about 9.31K ohms
