I just replaced my bushings on my shifter plate cuz I needed to and because I had some play in the shifter when I had it in the gears. I just finished putting them in and I like the feel, but I still have play in the shifter. I have an OBX short shifter, and didn't forget to take the old stuff out of the stock shifter and put them in the new one, so that's not the problem. I can see it's moving a little in the bottom where the little nub is that sits in the little cup thing and I ca fix that easy. The problem is that it has a little movement on the part where the shifter hooks up to the rest of the assembly. Ya know how you can take off the shifter by removing that one bolt, those bushings that the shifter pivits on are too small for the shifter, but fit fine when slipped over the other part. Do you guys know what i am even talking about?? Has anyone else have this problem? I just need a different size, anyone know where I can get them and what they are exactly called?

I know what you are talking about. They are a type of plastic and oly available from the dealer to the best of my knowledge. You might be able to find something you can make work at Menards/Home Depot, of course you would need to buy a file as well to make whatever bushing you buy fit.

Are you sure the problem is not in the shifter itself? like OBX made the shaft the bushing fits into too large. I know OBX is a high quality company...... :rolleyes

Yea, it's definately a manufacturing defect, my stock one didn't do that. The only damn thing decent thing that OBX makes is a header. Damn, and those bushing kick ass, think there's much of a diff between the symborski kit is much better?? Anyone else know of where to get what I need? Thnx man.

Sorry but I can't answer your main question, but I have felt the difference between the symborski shift kit and the ES shifter bushings and I really prefer the ES bushings. They were much better. Hope this helps a little.
