8457, Air intake trouble HELP ME PLEASE!!!!! Posted by neovb, Oct-06-01 05:56 PM
I bought an aftermarked AEM type intake. So of course I opened up the hood, removed the stock airbox and intake, and started to pop in the aftermarket one. Then i realized, the BATTERY is in the way! The aftermarked intake didnt fit because the angle at which is curved was too wide, and it ran into the battery! Is there anyone out there who knows a solution to this? Someone who has run into the same problem? Anyone who knows how to move the battery?!... Please let me know at neovb@neovb.com any help is GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

loosen the batt tie down and push it to the side if you can. try that. it might give u an extra inch or so to work with.

i've got the same problem right now, i'm using an extra tightener on both sides of the reducer to try my best to get a decent fit.

Ok guys, I just put my intake on yesterday, so I ran into the same problem. What I did was completely remove the battery. Then I put the Cold Air Intake into place. Then I put the battery back in. I pushed the battery as far to the right as possible. However I had to take the plastic cover off of the battery, and I did not put that metal bar that goes on the left side of the battery back in. Don't really need it. Also, you might have to bend your horn outta the way, it will probably interfere with the filter on the end of the Cold Air Intake. Anything else I can do to help?

LAST EDITED ON 07-Oct-01 AT 10:59 PM (PST)If it really won't fit even after the battery is moved all the way over, then try to cut the pipe shorter where it connects to the throttle body. Good luck.
