84488, srt piston offset question Posted by 2point4, Jan-08-05 02:39 PM
i am building a stratus block with srt pistons and rods, but which way do ya install them? if we turn them around to face the exhaust ramp towards the exhaust side of the cylinder head then there is an offset issue correct? won't that change when the piston reaches t.d.c? i know that the pistons sit low to lower the compression but will it hit the valves if they are oversized? let me know...chris

first you need to remove the piston from the rod and turn them 180 degres because the oil squirting effect of the rod is directional
next you need to put the piston with the hump facing the exhaust and the flat side facing the intake
