When doing a rebuild.. Do you use the stock crankshaft? Can it handle that power or is that another you buy when you are building a powerful block? If it is something that is aftermarket and stronger who makes it and how much?

I used the stock crank. I have seen others 'knife edge' thier stock crank. Im not sure if there are any companys that make aftermarket ones?...anyone?

Ok, thats what I thought but I wasn't sure. I am undecided on alot of things on what I want to do. So I am evaluating the cost of everything, wanted to make sure the stock crank is reuseable in a rebuild for high power.

lmfao! Omg! How much power could you really afford to gain that would make that crankshaft worth $1,300?

I'd say stick with the OEM crank. Get it professionally balanced along with your new rods and pistons and you will be satisfied. A forged crank is really a luxury you should indulge in if building an all-out race engine.

ya those are for building race motors not rebuilding ur nt.

Dont' worry about the stock crank. They're already knifed endge comming from off of the line. They're beefed up. Reuse it, if there's nothing wrong w/ it don't F@#K w/ it. Just get it blueprinted, dipped and the whole nine and half yards.
