84304, 2.4 oil pan and bedplate Posted by micyek, Jan-04-05 08:34 AM
this may make some of the super guru's and old schooler's bang there heads. But in my search for a 2.4 block I've ran acrossed a couple that had no oil pan. :shrug And I've done enough research to know that the 2.0 and the 2.4 oil pans have different bolt patterns. But does the bedplate to the block patterns match up? Or am I just completely retarded and the bedplates totally incompatible? I think this might save some fabrication headaches with the crossmembers and such if they bolt to each other.
But on the other hand, after everything is said and done I don't want to have a useless block and bed plate on my hands either. Idunno...just thought...has anyone look into this?

The 2.4L block is physically larger in almost every dimension, and significantly wider at the bottom than a 2.0L. As well, the 2.0L oil passages and filter adapter have no coresponding holes on the 2.4L block.
Not even remotely close. :wallbash :wallbash :wallbash :wallbash :censored
