You and my g/f persuaded me to do a FULL engine rebuilt. no more cheap ass playing around...
I will take the entire engine Block out of my car, and get a machine shop to do the rebuild.

But the problem now is, where do I get the parts?
the Howell Long Rod rebuilt kit will take 3-6 weeks before they ship, and that's a LONG TIME!

Do any of you know where is other place I can get it QUICK and it's the same price and quality?

Also I am questioning about the howell rebuilt kit. since I am still waiting to hear which ring is the best, and etc.

BTW, if I am going to pull the entire engine out. I should change the clutch as well? should I? but it's going to be ALOT of money again! I have ZERO concept on clutch. I know how it works and etc..but I have no concept (or at least I should say I have no confident in it) so please guys, help me out. what clutch, what type, what brand, should I look at? I am working on a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS. it is equipped with ODB-II so it should be the new type of 1995 eclipse.

I am not a newbie, and I know how to use the search.
I really understand when people ask alot and have no clue what they are saying.
I read over 200 post in the past 2 nite.
I searched for "rebuilt" "howell kit" "long rod" "rebuilt kit"

I read ALL OF THEM.
But most of them are pretty old and out of date.
Like some still said "www.gottude.com" has some cheaper kit.
But it doesn't exist anymore. (maybe they changed URL?)

So that's why I ask again, and I want to make sure on some detail points that other post didn't mention or specificly stated.

So thats' all.
It will cost alot, and it is the BIGGEST thing I ever did to my car (other then my custom turbo kit)
So I do want to get it right and no more PULLING engine!

maybe try rebuild and see what you find. There's another site, but the prices are higher, I don't remember the URL, though, it's on here somewhere.

If you're just looking for the kit, there are several on the net if you do a google for it, but you typically won't find one for less than howell. Others, like Slow Boy have short blocks. Try www.hi-performance.com/ImportRebuildKits.htm (can't get link to work) but it's in canadian, about $430. Or here for another kit. These may be out-dated as I just googled for it.

Don't always assume that you've read plenty before posting, you'll probably still get flamed. Search here, search google, read. I read for probably 2-3 months until my eyes bled before I really became active* in the community.

*Not that I'm truly active, but for argumenative purposes.

But I been doing that since 2 years ago till now. and in the past 3 days, I especially really alot alot more.

After another 3 hrs of research Durring Work... "shuuuu" don't tell anyone...

I confirmed VTengine don't do imports anymore and they don't sell anymore 420A parts.
I tried ERT, extremePSI, bruce's speed shop, Mach V, import performance, over boost, etc etc etc....
They don't have kits for rebuilding 420A engine. only seperate parts. and adds up more $$$. (and not LONG RODS)

Can anyone tell me, other then HOWELL Automotive, is there another store for me to choose from?

Also, if I buy the HOWELL long rod kit. I definitely want to buy extra JE rings, can someone tell me where I can get them and the cheapest!

You can get the JE rings from us if you order the kits. But the kits automatically come wiht the better Total Seal Rings like we use in all our personal engines, and race engines.

Howell is pretty much the only place, if they said 4-6 weeks for delivery, good luck getting it within 3 months.

You'll get it, but it'll take really long unless its something they have in stock. Their suppliers suck and Howell only stocks on little things usually.

dude order from ERT http://www.exileracing.com/ im getting my rebuild kit for $1,100 shipped, with everything, plus the upper and lower gaskets. plus i get the kit a lot quicker than howell will ever get it to me.

We ship our orders quickly. If JE is slow, then yes it takes a little more time. We try to stock the most common sizes, but odd bore sizes take longer, but the main thing is we work very closely with JE to make sure the pistons are correct, and on occation we find a problem and return them. Yes that will add time, but is more important for us to make sure the customer gets the correct part than just getting something out the door.

I normally get my parts very fast from Howell as long as they're in stock (which most are). A company can only be as fast as their suppliers, so I wouldn't put it on Gary for delays.

He's also the one that created the long rod kit, and has put tons into researching them and bringing them to the market. I believe it's the best alternative to actually going with the 2.2 stroker (though I still prefer the 2.2)

It is 4 to 6 weeks. The pistons will be what takes the longest. If JE is on the ball, it will be less time. We offer free shipping on the kits, so you will get the best deal from us. We will also work with you on any technical problems you run into.

I've spoken to Gary before ordering a bottom end kit 2 year ago. He got it to me in 3 weeks. Everything. I also orderd the HRC kit from him and he got it to me in 4 weeks. Everything. My dealings with him has been pleasant. If you need another option, the guy who machined my engine in Danbury can get the same bottom end kit for a little cheaper. I'll have to search for his business card if you would like to speak to him. But I highly recommend AFX just because they know our engines and exactly what we need.

I have no problem with buying from Howell, for now, I am just concerning about how long I have to wait. some people said 3 months. and that worries me a little.

Only way someone would wait that long is if a custom piston had to be designed and then there were problems when it came in. Wait times are not that long at all.

I'm pretty sure I know it has free shipping, I own the place. The computer doesn't drop the shipping off until you complete the sale. If your unsure, just put a note in the comment box. "Free shipping per Gary"
