are these the only piston rings that you have to use a catch can with? what kind of piston rings do you think i should get, that will last a while, and can handle boost well, the rings will be going on JE .020" over pistons

You don't have to have a catch can with them if you disable your pcv system. I have them and they work great.

JE rings are better than Totalseals.

In fact, some people would say that any ring is better than a Totalseal.

Anyways, a catch can is only necessary if you have a lot of blowby, which is a symptom of rings that are NOT working right. Totalseals claim to eliminate blowby, and thus eliminate the need for a catch can.

The reality of the Totalseal claim is that if you do everything right, it will work fine. But if you get enough detonation, or assembly error causes the "total seal" ring to spin around... it unseals and leaks worse than a conventional ring.

im kind of leaning toward JE rings, since the pistons are going to be JE, but i still havn't fully decided yet i have to read some more about them, but im gonna order the rebuild kit finally, as soon as i decide.

All you have to do is know what you're doing when you install the total seals and they will work great. Of course they aren't going to work well if they aren't installed properly. I think that's why people don't like them, the ease of installation.
